Hanamaru Kindergarten

A kindergarten girl tries to win her teacher's affection.

Hanamaru Kindergarten (はなまる幼稚園, Hanamaru Yōchien) is a Japanese manga series created by Yuto and released by Square Enix. The story centers on Anzu, a kindergarten student who has a crush on her teacher and repeatedly attempts to win his affection, though she never succeeds. An anime adaptation, produced by Gainax, aired in Japan between January and March 2010.

The plot follows Anzu and her friends, the timid Koume and the eccentric Hiiragi, as they try to capture the attention of their caretaker, Naozumi Tsuchida. Tsuchida, however, is far more interested in Nanako Yamamoto, a fellow kindergarten teacher who runs the class next door. While Anzu tries to convince Tsuchida to marry her when she grows up, he is focused on dating or becoming engaged to Yamamoto.

The characters include the teachers and students of Hanamaru Kindergarten. Tsuchida is the only male teacher, a recent graduate who initially seems unreliable but gradually improves. A game enthusiast, he often stays up late playing and arrives late to work, where he teaches the first-year Sakura Class. Anzu has a crush on him, which he does not return, though he cares for her as he does all his students. Anzu and her mother, Sakura, call him "Tsuchi." It is revealed that Tsuchida once had a crush on Sakura in high school, but now he is interested in Yamamoto. He is nicknamed "breast man" for his habit of looking at model magazines and staring at Yamamoto's chest. By the end, the children help him confess, and he begins a relationship with Yamamoto.

Yamamoto teaches the first-year Peach Class. She is good at sewing, mending Tsuchida's apron and Koume's stuffed panda-cat doll. She is oblivious to romantic interest in herself but notices that another teacher, Hanamaru, likes her sister Mayumi. She eventually develops feelings for Tsuchida and becomes more interested in romance. Other teachers include Rōze Kusano, who likes sports and muscular men and watches Tsuchida's efforts; Kawashiro, a slightly geeky teacher of the second-year Tulip Class who lacks composure; Kakogawa, a mature teacher with short brown hair; and Nishikaze, a laid-back teacher with long black hair and a sleepy expression.

Among the students, Anzu is the main protagonist. She calls Tsuchida "Tsuchi" like her mother and, encouraged by her mother, plans to marry him, though her attempts fail. She has a wild strand of blond hair and o
