The story is set in the Tama River area, mostly in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa, where battles occur between the evil organization Florsheim and the hero Sunred. Sunred, referred to as 'Red', is a rough-talking, violent, and rude hero, while the villains of Florsheim, led by General Vamp, are polite, conscientious, and easy-going. Despite this, both sides stay true to their roles: Florsheim is dedicated to destroying Sunred and taking over the world, while Sunred battles them. Other evil organizations and heroes are mentioned occasionally. Each episode is divided into various shorts, with humor derived from character interactions, especially among Sunred, his girlfriend Kayoko Uchida, and General Vamp. Kayoko and Vamp get along well, and she occasionally consults him about housework or cooking, while she and Sunred often argue like a long-married couple.
